Where we Work

In 2010

Currently our Schools Programme is implemented in three provinces, including KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape.

Although schools are our main focus, we are anticipating expanding our programme during 2010 and possibly beyond, by introducing new projects which will target young people in the following three settings: education (elementary and high schools, schools for special needs and disability, colleges, technikons, universities, etc.) community (youth centres, prisons, community halls, libraries, religious institutions, etc.) and workplace (corporate sector, non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations, community-based organisations and government, etc.).

Within the next three years, we plan to expand into all nine provinces, with a particular focus on the 18 priority districts identified by the National Department of Health. This will however depend on the organisation securing funds for these activities.

Southern African Development Community (SADC)

Despite tremendous odds and in-country challenges, many in southern Africa have taken up the fight against AIDS. Through sharing of best practices, hard work and solid research, they are managing the impact of HIV and AIDS through prevention efforts, disease management programmes, treatment, care and support both for the infected and affected. The solutions to fighting HIV and AIDS could lie in the hands of the young people of southern Africa.

Strategically, we would thus envisage expanding our work into the SADC region over the next five years. Particularly among neighbouring countries who would see benefit from our work with young people, and are interested in uniting on similar HIV and AIDS awareness and care projects.
