M&E Activities
From the outset, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) has played a very important role in the development of the OVSA Schools Programme.
Monitoring & Evaluation
OVSA’s monitoring process involves the systematic and continuous documentation of aspects of programme implementation that indicate if our programme is functioning and proceeding according to plan. The process includes the assessment of programme performance in relation to programme activities.
In our programme the following aspects of monitoring are focused on:
- Routine tracking of learners/beneficiaries reached;
- Routine tracking of information about programme implementation; and
- The measurement of progress towards the achievement of objectives
Evaluation forms an important part of our initiative and in the year 2011 we intend to increase evaluation activities. An evaluation serves to measure whether our programme outcomes were achieved and determines what impact the programme had on its beneficiaries.
Reporting
A monthly monitoring report is collated and submitted. The monthly report is encompassed of feedback from Facilitators/Senior Facilitator on the content, quality, challenges and progress of the Schools Programme. Facilitators/Senior Facilitator are required to report on a weekly basis, whereas Project Officers report on a monthly basis. Reports pertaining to data (number of learners reached) is submitted on a weekly basis. This is tracked by daily workshop registration and data collection forms. Data is also recorded on an online database, however this is a monitoring tool which is donor specific.
